Introducing CitizenVault & CitizenGuard: It’s Time to Reclaim Your Digital Privacy

We live our lives online. We work, shop, connect, and share – creating a vast trail of digital footprints. But who controls that trail? All too often, it's not us.

Every click, every sign-up, every interaction can be logged, packaged, and sold by companies you've barely heard of, often without your clear understanding or meaningful consent. Data brokers build shadow profiles, advertisers target you relentlessly, and data breaches expose your sensitive information. The feeling of powerlessness is real.

Enough is enough.

We believe that your personal data belongs to you. You should have the right – and critically, the ability – to control who uses it and how. That's why we're building CitizenVault.

What is CitizenVault?

CitizenVault isn't just one tool; it's a mission to empower individuals with practical ways to manage their digital privacy. We're starting with two core components:

CitizenGuard: Think of this as your automated privacy agent. Planned as a simple browser extension, CitizenGuard is designed to identify companies holding your data as you browse and automatically send legally valid data deletion requests (like under GDPR/CCPA) on your behalf. No more hunting down privacy policies and filling out endless forms – CitizenGuard aims to do the heavy lifting, persistently enforcing your right to be forgotten.

CitizenVault: This is your secure digital safe. We envision CitizenVault as a zero-knowledge, end-to-end encrypted platform where you can securely store, manage, and control your most sensitive files and information. Unlike traditional cloud storage, zero-knowledge means only you can decrypt and access your data – not even we can see it.

Why Now?

Privacy regulations like GDPR and CCPA exist, but exercising your rights remains frustratingly difficult. Companies often rely on user inertia and complex processes to avoid compliance. We're building CitizenVault and CitizenGuard to bridge the gap between your rights on paper and your power in practice. We want to make digital privacy accessible and actionable for everyone.
